AI that doesn't just answer — it acts

Most AI built into IT platforms stops at suggestions. It summarizes the alert, drafts the ticket reply, and hands the actual work back to your team. Monitic AI is built the other way around. Mon-Ai, the assistant inside the Monitic platform, operates the same tools your technicians use: it investigates alerts, queries live fleet data, deploys patches, runs scripts, executes power actions, and opens an encrypted terminal session on an endpoint to fix what it found. Competitor AI suggests. Monitic AI acts — and makes every action auditable.

Five guarantees before a single capability

An AI with hands raises a fair question: what stops it from doing damage? For Monitic the answer is not a policy document. It is enforced in the product, on every action, for every user.

GuaranteeHow it is enforced
Manager-approved actions need your approvalAn action gate holds every risky or high-impact operation until a human explicitly confirms it.
Full audit trailEvery AI action is logged with what was done and who directed it — reviewable at any time.
Scoped permissionsThe AI operates strictly within the directing user's RBAC permissions and company-access boundaries. It can never do more than the person driving it.
Evidence at every stepCommand outputs and the decision chain are visible in the conversation. There is no black box to trust on faith.
Bring your own AI providerMulti-provider LLM architecture — connect your own provider and API key, keep your own governance. A PII anonymization layer sits in front of requests.

AI for IT operations starts with investigation

When an alert fires, Mon-Ai picks it up the way a technician would: it queries the affected endpoint's inventory and live metrics, pulls recent changes, checks related devices, and lays out what it found — with the raw outputs attached, not a summary you have to take on trust. Anomaly detection on collected exporter metrics surfaces the deviations worth investigating in the first place. The AI Assistant can reach everything the platform knows about your fleet, so the answer to "what changed on this server last night" takes one question, not four consoles.

Remediation with real hands

Diagnosis is worth little if the fix is still a manual task in someone's queue. Mon-Ai closes the loop: it deploys patches, runs scripts through the same engine that powers Automation, and executes power actions on endpoints. Routine, safe operations proceed; anything risky stops at the action gate and waits for a human decision. Manager-approved actions always require explicit approval — no exceptions, no configuration that turns it off.

An encrypted terminal, under human control

For problems no dashboard button fixes, Mon-Ai opens a real interactive shell on the endpoint — encrypted end to end, with state that persists across commands like any working session. Every command passes per-command risk triage: safe diagnostics run immediately, risky commands require confirmation, and the full transcript lands in the audit trail. See the AI Terminal for how this works in practice.

How Monitic AI works

Mon-Ai operates the platform through the same tools Monitic exposes via MCP (Model Context Protocol). That has two consequences. First, the AI has no private side door — it uses the identical, permission-checked operations a human would. Second, external AI clients can connect to Monitic's MCP server, so an assistant your organization already runs can operate your fleet under the same gates, scopes, and logging. The LLM layer is multi-provider: you bring your own AI provider and API key, and the PII anonymization layer strips personal data before requests leave the platform.

Explore Monitic AI in depth

  • AI Assistant — chat that reaches real tools: investigate, query, and act across the fleet.
  • AI Terminal — an encrypted shell the AI drives, with per-command triage and full transcript audit.

Part of one platform

Monitic AI is a layer across the whole product, not a bolt-on. It acts on the inventory and telemetry from Endpoint Management, executes through Automation, and works alongside your Service Desk so investigations and fixes stay attached to the ticket. If you are building toward autonomous IT operations, start with the AI IT Operations solution. Every plan includes the platform on one agent and one console, with pricing built on per-endpoint plans, and setup is covered in the AI documentation.

FAQ

Frequently asked questions

Can Monitic AI take high-impact actions on its own?

No. Manager-approved actions always require explicit human approval through the action gate. Per-command risk triage lets safe, read-only operations proceed so the assistant stays useful, while anything risky waits for you.

Which AI providers can we use?

Monitic's LLM layer is multi-provider by design. You connect your own AI provider with your own API key, which keeps model choice, data agreements, and governance in your hands.

How do we know what the AI actually did?

Two ways. In the moment, command outputs and the decision chain are visible in the conversation itself. After the fact, every AI action is written to the audit trail with the action taken and the user who directed it.

Does our fleet data leave our control?

You choose the AI provider and hold the key, and a PII anonymization layer processes requests before they reach the model. The AI also only sees what the directing user's RBAC permissions allow.
