A software inventory tool that stays current by itself

A software inventory is only useful while it is true, and manually maintained inventories stop being true within weeks. Monitic's software inventory is collected automatically by the same agent that manages the endpoint: every installed application, with its version, on every machine — updated when something actually changes, and connected to the security and spend questions the inventory exists to answer.

Every application, every version, every endpoint

The agent inventories installed software with version detail and keeps it current without scans to schedule or agents to poke. Version granularity is the difference between a list and a tool: "Is that application installed" is a compliance question, but "which endpoints still run the vulnerable version" is the question that matters during an incident — and Monitic answers it fleet-wide, per company, per unit, in seconds. Change detection with a trail

Collection is checksum-based — the record updates only when the software on a device actually changes, and each change is kept as a dated entry. For audits, the trail answers "what changed since the last review" directly; for operations, it keeps the inventory clean enough that your team actually uses it.

Because the inventory knows versions, it can know exposure.
